We have organised a leading group UK Vascular Surgeons and Interventional Radiologists to undertake the training on each of the course modules. Each trainer has a proven track record of both educational and clinical training excellence.

Mr. Robert S M Davies
MBChB, MMedSci, MD, FRCS

Mr Robert Davies qualified in 1999. He completed a master degree in medical education (MMedSci) in 2010 and a medical doctorate degree in surgery (MD) in 2012. He was awarded awarded Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons (FRCS) in 2011. Mr. Davies was appointed as a consultant vascular and endovascular surgeon at University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust in 2012 and an honorary senior lecturer in medical education at the University of Leicester in 2014. He is the previous training programme director for vascular surgery in the East Midlands, and a member of the vascular SAC. He has an interest in clinical simulation and was co-director of the Simulation Centre at Univeristy of Leicester between 2015-2020. His clinical sub-specialist area of interest is limb salvage and he is the clinical director for the Vascular Limb Salvage Service at Univeristy Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust

Mr. Michael L Wall
MBChB, MD, FRCS

Mr Michael Wall undertook his undergraduate medical studies at the University of Birmingham graduating in 2002. He completed a medical doctorate degree in surgery (MD) in 2011 at the University of Birmingham and Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons (FRCS) in 2013 . He undertook a post-CCT fellowship at Flinders medical centre in Adelaide in 2014 where he gained experience in the endovascular treatment of chronic total occlusion. He was appointed a consultant in the Black Country Vascular network in 2015 and consistently performs amongst the highest number of peripheral arterial bypasses in the UK.

Mr. Hany Zayed
MSC MD FRCS

Mr Hany Zayed qualifed in 1994. He completed a master degree in science (MSc) in 1999 and went on to complete a medical doctorate degree in surgery (MD) in 2004. He was awarded Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons (FRCS) in 2009. Mr Zayed was appointed as a consultant vascular and endovascular surgeon at Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust in 2008 is currently the clinical lead for vascular surgery in the Trust. Mr Zayed has a specialist interest in endovascular techniques to treat arterial disease and he helped to develop and expand a specialist diabetic foot network covering south east London. Mr Zayed is a regular speaker at national and international meetings

Guest Speakers:

 

There will be number of guest speakers during the workshops. In 2019 we were delighted to welcome Dr. Bolia as guest lecturer on the VaLSA EndoSim Workshop. He published the original description of sub-intimal angioplasty in 1989 and has championed this technique for the treatment of lower limb peripheral arterial disease ever since. Dr. Bolia delivered a talk detailing a lifetime of experience (10000+ cases) in treating patients with lower limb arterial steno-occlusive disease with sub-intimal angioplasty.
